Octobers Funding goal Reached

Well we hit and went through the first goal ahead of time, I want to hug everyone who helped this month and especially everyone who donated at the end. Now we’re moving on to November and if we can do the same again we’re looking like it will be a very happy Christmas all around.

The current total stands at:

Post Production Goal Two

£6,652.87 GBP / £7,750 GBP

30th November 2010

This is all going to make Casimir Effect a great film and show that there are people in the world that are dedicated to independent film and not just Hollywood blockbusters.

We still have a few days left to get the Casimir Effect Apparel design items, these will now be added to the November totals and hopefully we can get through November quickly. Then if you are in Cardiff this holiday season drop a message here and if we’re free we can always meet up for a drink or coffee.

Thank you everyone who has bid on auctions, bought merch and especially those who have donated. When we started out with Casimir Effect we thought getting enough for filming was going to be a tough hurdle; now we’re coming through post production the response and dedication of everyone out there shows there are other ways to tell good stories and they don’t cost millions.

I’m updating the thanks to page today there are a lot of new names to add so keep watching if you have bought anything or donated, your name should appear soon if it’s not already there.

Snogging in aid of Breast Cancer

One of our supporters and followers has asked me to pimp a charitable event they are doing for Cancer Research. She is doing this to raise money and awareness of Breast Cancer and that it’s not something that affects you when you get old, you can suffer from it at any age. As a survivor she and some friends are doing a sponsored snogathon and attending the Adam Lambert tour hoping to raise money and in return you get a snog, who could say no.

She has set up a Just Giving page for donations as well. So if you can spare a few pounds it’s a noble cause. Also knowing that if cancer research has enough funding the current break through can lead to prevention and cure for 90% of cancer in the next 20 years. It may seem impossible but cancer can become a thing of the past. And we can look forward to the future not too distant from Casimir Effect where such diseases are irradiated.

Justified Ancients of Mu Mu

Okay I ran out of ideas for a title. But in a way the philosophy of the KLF, is something we have partaken of on more than one occasion. Firstly they crashed the charts in the 80s proving that you don’t need to go through the standard processes to get a no. 1 single. Then their methodology through their music career has stayed the same. The idea that if someone else can do it why can’t you, and in order to make a difference you have to be brave and do something new and different.

Anyway

Here is a new batch of onset photos, these are from day 4 there is a nice one of Teff in there. You can see by this time we had all settled in and started to have a bit of fun.

Apparel

The Casimir Effect logo design will be removed from the store at the end of October so that only gives you a few more days to get your orders in. Any out standing orders will be fulfilled as the problems with our printers not taking our small orders have seriously driven me and many of our shoppers up the wall.

Fundraising

We’re very close to our October month end totals. A few store orders and eBay sales should see us this that target. Any over flow will be added to next month’s totals, so don’t worry we won’t be going to do the pub just yet. But we have managed to make it this far with your help and the end is in sight so lets push on and get there. I still have a lot of books I need to sell and a few other interesting odds and ends knocking around which will also hit eBay.

Post Production Goal One

£6,430.73 GBP / £6,500 GBP

On line Store and Merch

It has been a busy few weeks we have most of our Head of Departments (HoDs) sorted, a few who have first priority are getting back to me in the next few weeks, they will do it if their other work they are negotiating falls through.

We have done some location scouting; I’m waiting to hear back from a few more places before I get photos of them but all seems to be panning out well in the locations department. Have a look at one possible location.

The Store

Many of you have asked for t-shirt and merch to help support Casimir Effect, well after hunting around for the best deals I can get, we now have a store. At the moment we are limiting it to a single colour with 2 designs, once we get more orders in we can expand the colour range and designs. The next designs will be Dr. Alice Sharpe followed by Cromwell Jackson, each one will be rendered in a similar manner to Dr. Robert Cameron’s.

We are making sure all the t-shirts and clothes we offer are of decent quality, many of them are from Fruit of the Loom stock or equivalent quality so should last many years. We can do over sized items on request, however because these are hard to source we cannot offer them as part of the size range. But if you have a size query for an oversize item drop us an e-mail and we shall see what we can find.

We are also open to suggestions of other items you would be interested in buying, at the moment we are looking into Mugs, Caps and Mouse Mats. Once we have a good quality source for these items we will add them to the store, any other suggestions we will look into as they come in.

Go to the store now.
