Making a film is a fluid, organic creative process, so it’s highly likely that ideas mentioned in this site will change. For example, it may turn out that six characters is too many for the audience to follow, and five would work better. Or that the orchestral score isn’t as powerful as a Kylie Minogue pop song.

And the small print…

You will not be entitled to any share of income or net profits derived from ancillary rights including without limitation books, music, soundtrack albums, merchandising and computer games.

On transactions of greater than £10 sterling, you shall be entitled to receive an onscreen thank you credit, as well as, as far as possible and at our sole discretion, a similar credit on the website, DVD and other associated media, the size and the place of which shall be determined by us subject to the standard distributor requirements; provided that the content of your credit is not of an offensive nature. For example, it is generally not possible to give credits on the television version of the Film due to broadcasting requirements. No failure by Casimir Productions to comply with the provisions of this clause and no failure of third parties to accord the said credit shall constitute a breach of this agreement by Casimir Productions but Casimir Productions shall make reasonable efforts to remedy the failure of which it receives written notice from the lender as soon as reasonably practicable but without incurring any legal costs or other expenses.

For the avoidance of doubt it is acknowledged by you that the copyright of the Film is owned by Casimir Productions. Furthermore, all creative and commercial decisions in connection with the Film are within the absolute discretion of Casimir Productions.

Casimir Productions may assign any of its rights or delegate any of its duties under any agreement.

Definitions

Donation

A donation is a gift given by physical or legal persons, typically for charitable purposes and/or to benefit a cause. A donation may take various forms, including cash, services, new or used goods including clothing, toys, food, vehicles. Charitable gifts of goods or services are also called gifts in kind.

Donations are gifts given without return consideration. This lack of return consideration means that, in common law, an agreement to make a donation is an “imperfect contract void for want of consideration.” Only when the donation is actually made does it acquire legal status as a transfer or property. In civil law jurisdictions donations are valid contracts, though they may require some extra formalities.
