Casimir Effect does Chicago

Well the talk went resoundingly well; at least I hope it does as I’m writing this before everything starts so I can quickly get everything on-line including the much talked about Scene 15. I would like to thank Lynnette and the staff of Chicago TARDIS for giving me this opportunity to speak about this film. And I Bananas for taking notes so she can do a write up about everything. Keep your eyes peeled on Live Journal for a few posts.

At this time I hope my sore throat isn’t going to be an issue other than I may sound like Tom Waits, which on the whole isn’t a bad thing.

Anyway enough babbling you’re here to see the Scene 15, remember to hit the like button and tweet about this till your friends want to kill you.

Funding Update

Also remember that were close to our end of November target a few sales in the store and bids on eBay should help things along. At last check we were £96 short.

Oh what can I call this Blog Post

Just keep swimming, at least that’s what Dori the Bluefish tells us. It seems there is so much to do and never enough time. I have to work on the sound, getting foley this weekend, and work getting the SFX plan sorted this week. Then I have to work on a plan to meet the targets for the end of December.

At the moment were close the end of November totals, I hope some of the eBay auctions get bids, and that we can get some apparel orders in for the new designs. With Chicago TARDIS this weekend Jenn has made badges and will be nipping around asking for people to donate a few dollars or some change. So if you see Jenn coming your way brandishing some groovy badges, she will probably give you one and ask nicely with a winning smile if you can spare some change. There are two exclusive designs for Chicago TARDIS once they are gone we won’t be doing any more.

Here’s where the fundraising is at for this month.

Atrium Students and their Projects

I have the first video from the students at the Atrium in Cardiff, this one is from the title sequence project. Once I get the files from the others I’ll upload them, I’m also persuading them to do a mini doc showing their design and development progress.

Anyway here is the first title sequence.

More from the Set

I have uploaded day eight of the behind the scenes stills, this was out last day filming at the Coal Exchange.

They’re new, They’re Shiny, They’re not Orange

As promised I have been slaving over a hot laptop working gruelling hours while watching Lost and Fringe and making bacon sandwiches. Now the time has come for the revelation you have all been waiting for, the chance to change the world one t-shirt at a time. The new apparel design is here, gone are the days of waiting weeks for t-shirts to be printed.

Now is the time of in-store embroidery, a time to seize the day and take control of our ‘density.’ Yes the new designs are up on the store, along with the first of the new special order items, a t-shirt design for the cute cuddly one in your life and a special t-shirt for your Build a Bear. See below for an example if MacThinksHesCool bear.

As the weeks progress and we put orders in I am adding new items from messenger bags to sew on patches. If you have any idea send us a tweet or email and we can see what suggestions we get.

All Locked Up

Well that’s that, the edit is now locked and we’re starting to put together everything that is needed for the effects, sound and music. This edit is somewhat different to the original ideas, like all things film everything can change at any point. We have played around with the timeline changing some elements to flash backs/forwards. This makes for a more intriguing film and offers better pace overall.

I’ll be starting on the sound next week and Clarky on the music the week after. We should be seeing the first tests from the Atrium students this week and they will be getting their grades. After that we will be setting to getting all the CG elements and matt paintings made.

We’re making our way to the month end totals and I think this next week will be a good one as we should be launching the new embroidered t-shirt designs. I’m hoping to get a call from the printers tomorrow to pick up the last of the screen printed designs so I can get them posted this weekend.

The new design is the Casimir Effect logo design is first, I’ll be getting that on to the store this weekend. I’m also looking at getting some new stuff on to the Casimir Effect Café Press store and Alice’s Leather Survival gear on eBay.
