Dr Alice Sharpe

From an early age Alice was brought up with the help of her grandfather Alfred Sharpe, he told her stories and took her on adventures she would never forget. Now Alice has realised why her grandfather took such a keen interest in her. Somehow her fate and that of the known universe are tied together. Alice’s actions can tip the balance between total destruction of reality or its salvation. Alfred taught her that self sacrifice to save those you love and for the greater good is the ultimate action a person can take.

Alice spent many years of her life studying Quantum Physics and the use of Wormholes for transportation and communication. She had hoped she would be working on the Lunar Base developing the wormhole transportation system they are using. However the actions of Cromwell Jackson are a mystery to many and Alice was picked up to work with the elderly Dr. Robert Cameron, and his experiments in the use of the Casimir Effect in wormhole stabilisation. Alice ideas complimented that of Dr. Cameron’s and her Theory that Planks Constant is flexible like a rubber band helped them develop the first time machine. During their time together Alice and Bob fell deeply in love, even though their relationship was not physical she knew there was no one else for her.

She decided she would be the first human to travel through time. Something went wrong, Alice travelled over 100 years into her future, rather than the planned seven days. She opens Alfred’s letter for the first time and her fate is revealed, she would be with Bob in her past making it impossibly hard for her as she cannot allow her love for him to show.

Dr Robert Cameron

After leaving university Bob entered a research facility as an assistant he was soon noticed by the owner of the facility, his ideas and theories seemed radical to those around him and he was consistently proved right. Cromwell Jackson Syndicate as it became known, was working on the next generation of power delivery, they took a keen interest in Bob’s work.

Bob spent his early years with his nose in science journals, from the age of 8 when his father brought him his first microscope, Bob was fascinated by the world and how the universe works. After he was discovered, he was transferred from the research facility to SPATZ a secret underground base used by Cromwell Jackson and Titus Robotics as a safe place to carry out dangerous and clandestine projects. It was here that Bob was given unlimited funds to develop Zero Point Energy generation, he soon completed this project and moved on from there seeing the potential of the Casimir Effect, ZPE generators could be used to generate exotic matter and open a hole through space for the transportation of matter instantaneously.

Unknown to himself and his fellow researchers he accidently created a wormhole that spans forwards through time, essentially day 0 for time travel. This wormhole anchored itself in 2050 drawing energy from all of space time to maintain itself. This wormhole will soon become a conduit that will threaten the fabric of space time.

Cromwell Jackson

The distinctive face the world has come to know as the man who will save humanity from its own destruction. A self made man, who has the money and resources to develop the technology that can change the world, developing free unlimited power is just his first step. Other programs include the development of cyber technology and cutting edge bio-engineering.

Cromwell Jackson has never failed, he excelled at school being number one at everything and soon after he made his first billion. From there he cleverly invested his money in future technology projects that would help humanity survive its own failures. It is said he could be the most powerful man in the world and somewhat of a caretaker for the human race.  He was the first to develop saleable quantum technology from communication to computers, he made his money selling to governments and the military and slowly releasing the technology into the consumer market. Everyone wants his support, companies fight to be sponsored by him as they know their future is guaranteed. Titus Robotics is one such company that has secretly benefited from his backing, working together on new technologies that the rest of mankind only dream about.

The public face of Cromwell Jackson has been carefully constructed. Those who have had the privilege of meeting him and who work directly for him know a darker more sinister side. Cromwell Jackson will break a few more eggs to get what he wants. People speak of him under their breath as the man who can make the decisions to secure humanities destiny.

Major David Jones

Major Jones is a man of integrity though he comes off as harsh and forceful, his priorities are to protect those who are placed in his care.  He was forced to resign from a distinguished military service over a political decision that would cause the deaths of thousands of innocent lives. After his resignation, he was approached by Cromwell Jackson to lead a small private military.

Being brought up on military bases around the world, it was inevitable that David Jones would follow in his mothers and fathers footsteps and join the army. He rapidly advanced through the ranks making his way to Major, this is where he met his soon to be best friend Alfred Sharpe. Alfred was caught smuggling contraband items across the border into Saudi Arabia for his unit. Major Jones didn’t reprimand Alfred for his altruistic activates, because Alfred’s units moral was always higher than the others. A pact was made Alfred could continue smuggling as long as Major Jones never caught him bringing stuff in. Major Jones and Alfred made a good team keeping the men on the ground happy, but in the same hand controlling them through Major Jones’ discipline.

Major Jones was moved to the administrator of the SPATZ facility as the request of Cromwell Jackson, the facility co-op funded with Titus Robotics isn’t the ideal position for Major Jones and after some disputes and the suspicious suicide of his wife Jayne, he was forced to stay fearing for the life of his son Kyle, who left for Australia blaming his father for his mother’s death.

Lt Alfred Sharpe

A dedicated family man he joined the military to support his family and provide money to help his wife Myfanwy in her struggle with cancer. He left military service with Major Jones and took some time off to spend time with his wife Myfanwy, after her death he joined Major Jones, to help his son get married and survive through university.

Alfred comes from a working class background, he never had more money than he needed to survive and when Myfanwy was diagnosed with terminal cancer their income wasn’t enough. With a recently born son to care for, he had no choice but to look for higher paying work so returned to the military life he had given up, he rapidly rose through the ranks and teamed up with Major David Jones. Every penny he made went to his family, even though he missed them he knew this was the only way to make sure Myfanwy got the treatment she needed and his son would not grow up in poverty.  He retired from the military to spend the last months with Myfanwy and his son.

Now his son is married, Alfred can settle back in to his work and wait until his first grandchild is born. He has promised to retire and help his son and daughter-in-law raise their first child. Unknown to Alfred he will meet his grand-daughter sooner than he thinks?

Iolanthe

She is the AI of Iolanthus the largest city in the world, managing everything from traffic and utilities, to being the advisor and friend to millions. After the paradox the city began to die, those who she cared for diminished fearing for the future of her citizens she designed a colony ship and helped build it, even though she knew the entire universe would be suffering the same fate as the earth.

Iolanthe was built to design and manage the next generation of cities for the cream of civilisation. Once the city was complete the workers and their families were allowed to build under the walls of the city, these area rapidly expanded to make Iolanthus the largest city in the world. At this point the Hyper Corporations tried to exert dominance over Iolanthe and a battle broke out over who owned her. At the height of this battle Iolanthe broke all communication with the city and its infrastructure, rendering everything inoperable. The city was shut down for six days during which time emergency talks ended with Iolanthe being granted citizenship and all the rights of a human being. Iolanthe returned because she felt parts of her neural matrix going into a spasm, she was going insane from loneliness. After returning she and helped develop an avatar so she could have a physical presence within the city.

After stripping the city and using her avatar for parts the colony ship was finished and she began final preparation for launch, she knew she would miss them but the only thing her people have left is hope. She prepares herself for the loneliness, while waiting for Alice so they can rebuild the wormhole generator and enable her to take the next step in her journey to stopping the paradox.

Black Six

After the government’s super soldier programme collapsed, the Black’s were imprisoned. He surpassed all the expectations and the programme was taken over by Cromwell Jackson and Black Six began working for him rebuilding the programme.

Selected as an orphaned child Black Six had the genetics that the government was looking for. From the moment he could walk he was trained to be the ultimate emotionless and loyal killing machine. He has never known the ordinary world; he has only known that he was a tool of the government. As the programme collapsed Black Six was offered rehabilitation, but knowing nothing of the outside world he couldn’t comprehend anything other than servitude, the decision was made to imprison him for the rest of his life. When Cromwell Jackson took over the programme, Black Six was the only Black who never took his own life while in prison he remained loyal to his training, this intrigued Cromwell Jackson and made him his personal bodyguard and soldier.

After Alice arrived in 2050 Black Six was dispatched to the base to manage the situation and protect the asset. He is tasked with one thing, and that is to ensure Alice is not hurt in anyway.
